Junior Swim Team Coaches are interviewed and selected based on the number of Junior Swimmers who register. This information will be posted here once available (end of April)

What is Junior Swim Team?

Junior Swim Team will be used as a progression of swim skills and a prep for our Village Mill Vipers for Regular Swim Team.
The goal is for your child to swim a full lap by themselves at the end of the season.

Who is considered a Junior Swimmer?

A Junior Swimmer is anyone who cannot swim an entire pool length unassisted. It is possible for a swimmer to begin the season as a Junior Swimmer and move up to the Regular Swim Team to compete in meets or simply practice with the Regular Swim Team (this is optional). This would be a discussion between the Head Coach and Parent.
We ask that all Junior Swimmers have some swim/pool experience (children who can already swim a lap independently are encouraged to try Regular Swim Team)

What is the Junior Meet?

The Junior Swim Meet takes place at the end of the season during the last Junior Swim Team practice of the season for Village Mill Junior Swimmers. They do not compete against other swimmers or other swim teams. Junior Coaches will be there to assist any Junior Swimmer that prefers their coach swim the lap with them.
The entire swim team will cheer on each Junior Swimmer as they swim the length of the pool unassisted or show off their new swim skills learned from the 2026 season!
After the meet, there will be an ice cream party.

Must Junior Swim Team parents volunteer at the weekly swim meets?

No. Parents only volunteer at the weekly swim meets if their child is swimming in the meet.
If a Junior Swimmer parent has a Regular Swim Team Swimmer, then that family must volunteer at each swim meet.
